Law Of Human Nature

Its giving me primal brain energy

Humans, for as long as the history of our existence, do the things we do for two reasons:

  1. Gain pleasure

  2. Avoid pain

I know, it sounds simple and idiot proof.

So let’s take this a step further.

These two reasons can be expanded to the 5 levels from Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.

Literally, anything we ever do is based on these needs.

Also known as our primal ‘Why’.

Although humans as evolved and we’re no longer walking around covering our asses with animal skins or coconuts and banana leaves, what makes us ticks remains the same.

(But hey, if you still wearing that, you do you. Not gonna judge)

The reason we work, travel, buy things that make us happy, spend time and money with our friends and loved ones.

Because shiok…

Here lies the problem:

We almost start with the ‘why’ in everything else except when it comes to finance — spend/save/invest

It’s always…

“what should I invest in?”

“How much to invest?”

“How long should I invest for?”

Stop it fam…

The better question to ask is “Why do I want to invest and what happens if I don’t?”

Allow me to give you an example.

You’ve started working. Making adult money, doing adult things.

Bills, marriage, house, car, kids, boats, rolex, air force 1s, hotels, travels - whatever keeps your world spinning.

Why do you keep working and will your lifestyle change if you stop working entirely?

My guess is, damn right it will. Because hey, let's be real for a minute here:

Them bills ain’t gonna pay itself, marriage ain’t free and we both don’t want to be sleeping in the streets.

We’re not that ratchet.

And if you were fired today, you’d do everything that you can to find another job — again, needs (no money no honey know what I mean?)

So you have to keep working. To keep up with your current lifestyle.

That’s the why.

Easy, straightforward.

Consider this your action step: Ask yourself why you do what you do. Like go to the mirror now, look deep into your own soul and just ask.

Stare long enough and you might end up saying “the fuck am I doing??”

Cause that’s what I said too.

Or start noticing wrinkles or eyebags you’ve never seen before (ok kidding)…

Now then, how do you know if investing/saving/spending is the right decision in this current economy?

Tomorrow, I will share with you a key concept known as K.A.F.

A concept that will make you go “huh?” because it’s vague as a cake to most yet few understand how deep it can be. (that’s what sh- nvm)

See you at 7 am.
